SAM Registration & SAM Renewal
Your first step to doing business with the Federal Government!
What Is a SAM Registration?
The System for Award Management (SAM) serves as an essential interface for the facilitation of payments pertaining to contracts and grants. It is imperative that businesses maintain an active SAM Registration to be eligible for monetary disbursement. Active participation in the SAM registry provides access to the extensive financial opportunities available through the billions of dollars allocated annually to small businesses. To ensure uninterrupted inclusion in this system, it is vital to complete the SAM registration renewal process on an annual basis.
The United States Government holds the distinction of being the world's foremost procurer of goods and services. The opportunity to become a supplier to the federal government is a significant advantage, as it procures exclusively from businesses registered within the SAM. A business's absence from the SAM database effectively renders it invisible to government procurement processes. Timely renewal of SAM registration is therefore crucial for continued visibility and eligibility for government contracts.
Each entity registered under SAM is assigned a unique identifier known as a CAGE code, which stands for Commercial and Government Entity Code. This code is a critical component, signifying a business's authorization to engage in transactions with the government and enabling the government to execute payments for contracts, grants, and other forms of funding. The CAGE code remains consistent across each SAM registration renewal, provided there is no change in the business's location.
